This Privacy Policy explains how Catch! — Math Game (“Catch!” or “the app”) and the website catch-math.online (“the website”) handle information, and what choices you have. Catch! is developed and published by Siarhei Kouzel, an individual developer (“we”, “us” or “our” in this policy). Catch! is a math game for children, and we built it so that children can play without giving us any personal information.
This policy applies to the app on iOS and Android, to the website and to emails sent to our support address. It does not apply to services that we do not operate, such as the App Store and Google Play; their own privacy policies apply to them.
The short version
- No ads, no analytics tools and no tracking.
- No accounts: the game never asks for a name, email address, photo or any contact details.
- Game progress is saved only on your device. We never see it.
- Payments are handled by the App Store or Google Play, behind a grown-up check. We never see your payment details.
- If you email us, we use your message and email address only to help you.
- We never sell personal information or use it for advertising.
Who we are
Catch! is developed and published by Siarhei Kouzel, an individual developer, not a company. For the purposes of data protection laws, such as the EU and UK General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), Siarhei Kouzel is the controller of the personal information described in this policy. You can reach us at support@catch-math.online.
Information we do not collect
- The app has no registration, sign-in or user accounts. It does not ask players for their name, email address, phone number, postal address, photos or any other contact details.
- The app contains no advertising and no analytics, crash-reporting or tracking tools. It does not use the device’s advertising identifier and does not track players across other companies’ apps or websites.
- The app has no chat, social features or ways for players to share information with other people.
- The app does not ask for access to the camera, microphone, photos, contacts or location.
Game data on your device
To let you continue where you left off, the app saves game data on the device itself:
- game progress, such as completed levels and unlocked locations;
- collected beasts and heroes, the chosen heroes and the coin balance;
- settings, such as sound and practice preferences;
- practice statistics, such as how many answers of each kind were correct and how long they took;
- records of completed coin purchases, so that the app adds the coins only once.
The app does not send this data to us or to anyone else, so we cannot see, restore or move it to another device. It is deleted when you delete the app. If you back up your device with Apple or Google, the operating system may include app data in that backup; such backups are controlled by you and covered by the backup provider’s privacy policy.
Purchases and Premium
Catch! offers optional in-app purchases: hero packs, coin packs and a Premium subscription. Payments are processed by the Apple App Store or Google Play under their own terms and privacy policies: the Apple Privacy Policy and the Google Privacy Policy. We never receive your payment card details or the sign-in details of your store account.
To deliver a purchase, the store tells the app on your device which product was bought, and the app asks the store whether a Premium subscription is active. This happens on your device, and the app does not send this information to us. Subscriptions, cancellations and refunds are managed by the store in your store account.
Every purchase, and every link that leads out of the app, is behind a grown-up check that asks for a year of birth. The year is checked on the device to open that one step and is never saved or sent anywhere.
Internet connections
Most of the game works without an internet connection. The app connects to the internet only to:
- load prices, make and restore purchases and check a subscription through the App Store or Google Play;
- get the current date and time for the daily bonus from the public time service timeapi.io, which is not operated by us. The request contains no personal information or identifiers. As with any internet request, the service receives the device’s IP address in order to answer; we do not receive that address.
This website
The website does not use cookies for analytics or advertising, and it has no analytics tools, advertising, social media plugins, or third-party scripts or fonts. Like any website, it is delivered by a hosting provider, which processes technical information such as IP addresses and browser details to deliver the pages and protect the website from attacks, and may set strictly necessary security cookies. We do not use this information to identify visitors.
Support emails
When you email us at support@catch-math.online, we receive your email address, the name shown with it, and anything you include in the message, such as device details or screenshots. We use this information only to reply to you and to fix the problems you report, never for marketing.
We keep the correspondence only as long as it is needed to help you, and we delete it sooner if you ask. Our email service provider stores the messages for us and may do so on servers outside your country. If you are in the European Economic Area or the United Kingdom, we process your message to answer your request (Article 6(1)(b) GDPR) and because of our legitimate interest in answering questions about our app (Article 6(1)(f) GDPR).
Our support email is meant for parents and guardians. Please do not send payment card details, passwords or more personal information than your question needs.
How we share information
We do not collect personal information through the app, so we have nothing from it to share with anyone. The only personal information we may have is what you send us by email. We do not sell it, share it for advertising or give it to data brokers.
Some information is handled directly by the services that Catch! relies on, as described above: the App Store and Google Play process purchases, a hosting provider delivers the website, and a public time service answers the daily bonus request. They do this under their own terms and privacy policies.
We share the support emails we receive only:
- with our email service provider, which stores them for us;
- when the law requires it, for example in response to a valid court order, or when it is reasonably necessary to protect the rights, property or safety of our users, us or others, or to prevent fraud;
- if Catch! is transferred to another developer or publisher, in which case the support emails we still have may be transferred too, and the new owner must keep protecting them as this policy describes.
Children’s privacy
Catch! is made for children, mainly ages 6 to 8. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children, and the app does not let children make personal information public or share it with others. We built the app with children’s privacy laws, such as the U.S. Children’s Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA) and the GDPR, and the store rules for children’s apps in mind: no advertising, no third-party analytics, no accounts, and a grown-up check before purchases and links out of the app.
If we learn that we have received personal information from a child without the consent of a parent or guardian, for example in an email, we will delete it. Parents and guardians can contact us at any time at support@catch-math.online to ask whether we have any information about their child and to have it deleted.
Security
We keep the information we handle to a minimum, which is the best protection: there are no accounts or passwords to steal, game data stays on your device under its own security, and the website is served only over encrypted HTTPS connections. Still, no method of sending or storing information is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.
Your rights and choices
- Game data: you can delete everything the app saved by deleting the app. Hero packs and an active Premium subscription can be restored later with Restore purchases in Settings; coins and game progress cannot.
- Your personal information: we do not keep any personal information about players. Game data stays on your device, and the app sends nothing to us. The only personal information we may have is in the emails you have sent us yourself. For these emails, depending on where you live, you may have the right to access the personal information in them, to correct it, to delete it, to restrict or object to its use, to receive a copy of it, and to complain to your local data protection authority. Residents of some U.S. states, such as California, have similar rights to know, correct and delete their information and not to be treated differently for using these rights.
To use any of these rights, email us at support@catch-math.online. We will answer within the time required by the applicable law. We may need to confirm that a request comes from you, for example by replying to the email address you wrote from.
Neither the app nor the website tracks you, so there is nothing for a Do Not Track or Global Privacy Control signal to switch off.
Links to other services
Links in the app, all behind the grown-up check, and links on this website can lead to services we do not operate, such as Apple’s website, the App Store or Google Play. Their own privacy policies apply there, and we are not responsible for their content or privacy practices.
Changes to this policy
We may change this policy at any time, for example when the app or the law changes. The updated policy takes effect when it is published on this page, and the “Last updated” date above shows when it last changed. Please check this page from time to time.
